The Benefits
Research shows clear benefits for children when parents become actively involved in their child’s learning and development from an early age. Parental involvement has been recognised by the government as being key to a child's successful development too.
What is a parent/carer volunteer?
Parent/family member/carer volunteers typically have children at our pre-school who assist us in session times, welly walks and trip events. They are a vital part of our pre-school and we welcome anyone willing to give up some of their time to help support us.
What is the fundraising committee?
The fundraising committee are a group of parent/carer volunteers who help to raise vital funds for our pre-school, from organising little events like coffee mornings to organising bigger social events like summer fairs, school disco's and more. Taking on tasks like the application of grants, sponsoring of events. We are a group of multi skilled people who enjoy supporting our pre-school and bringing what we can offer to the table.
What are charity trustees?
The charity trustees are in charge of running the charity, making decisions regarding its management in order to achieve its aims. This is a crucial role in the existence of a charity.
Our committee has a strong commitment to the well-being, education and play of all the children in our care. Continuing the strength of our committee is most important to the future of our pre-school, the children and our staff.
Our committee works ‘behind the scene’ to keep the pre-school running smoothly by managing finances, employees, adhering to OFSTED regulations and the EYFS, safeguarding our children, organising fun fundraising events and more. Committee meetings are held once a term and this is where we discuss all matters about our pre-school.
Our pre-school committee is made up of:
-
Chairperson
-
Treasurer
-
Secretary
-
Between 2 and 9 other elected members
Who can join the Committee?
-
Parents/Guardians of children who attend the Pre-School
-
Anyone who has an interest in the welfare of children.
If you would like to know more about our volunteer options, our fundraising committee or being a charity trustee please let us know.
We look forward to hearing from you!
