About

High Littleton Pre-School (then known as Bo Peep Pre-School) was established in 1976 as a parent run toddler group.  In 1993 we became a registered charity pre-school run by a trust of committee members. In 2016 we changed our name to High Littleton Pre-School. We operate out of The Methodist Centre within the village of High Littleton where we provide high quality childcare and education for all children from the age of 2 to 5 years.

We have a highly qualified and dedicated team of staff, who provide a fun and stimulating environment to be in.

We believe that young children learn most effectively through being active, by organising their own learning experiences, by using language and through considerate and respectful relationships and interactions with other children and adults. We also believe they are entitled to a broad and balanced curriculum which is rooted in the process of how young children develop and learn. This is based on their interests and previous experiences, thus enabling them to make connections and succeed.

High Littleton Pre-School provides a safe, stimulating and caring environment, where the welfare of our children is our number one priority. We strive to increase children's self-confidence, self-esteem and self-help skills, enabling them to become more independent. We cater for every child's individual needs and allow children to discover that learning is fun through focused and spontaneous play activities.

We encourage them to respect each other and each other's possessions.

We value parental partnership and involvement. This also helps ensure minimum disruption to the child's home routine. Parents can be assured that their children will be loved and cared for and are welcome to help settle their child into the pre-school until they are familiar with their new surroundings.

We have three wonderful, spacious rooms, The Sunshine Room, The Rainbow Room and The Twinkle Room. This gives our different age groups their own space, which is engaging to their specific needs. Our outdoor space is set up and changed everyday and gives our children different activities to engage with. Our frequent ‘Welly Walks’ take us to Greyfield Woods, The Rec and to High Littleton Primary School.

We work very hard at making sure our transition process to Primary School is as smooth as possible and enjoy a good working relationship with our local Primary Schools.

Why not come and see for yourself ... our door is always open for a show around and a chat!
